Welcome to the American Traffic Academy
We provide specially designed, hands-on car control and accident avoidance clinics to permitted and licensed drivers of all ages and skill level. If you are a new or novice driver or have recently been involved in a traffic accident, this program is for you! Older, mature drivers will also find this course perfectly suited to enhance their existing skill set.
Completing an ATA Advanced Driver Education program may reduce your auto insurance premiums by as much as 20% effectively paying for much if not all of the costs associated with completing the clinic!!
Our half-day car control course is endorsed and used by local court system Judges in Southern Nevada as an alternative to fining traffic offenders. In addition to being endorsed by the courts and local police departments, we are also the exclusive provider of car control and accident avoidance programs to the College of Southern Nevada’s student body. Individuals attending CSN may now enroll in this clinic directly through the school’s registration dept. and earn a continuing education half credit for completing the course.
The Advanced Interactive Driver Education program (A.I.D.E.) is currently offered regularly in Las Vegas on weekends. Students must register in advance for their class.
All students are expected to pay for the class on site, the day of their driving program, in cash or by money order payable to the American Traffic Academy. Click on the registration bar below to get started.
NOTE:
All students must bring one or more documents with them to the class to participate. Please refer to our registration page for a list of those requirements. We supply all the vehicles used in our driving program. They are all equipped with automatic transmissions.
Court sentenced students must bring several items with them to the class to participate. Please refer to our registration page for those requirements.

Over the years, well meaning government agencies, advocacy groups, industry experts, auto manufacturers and insurers have been offering motorists, young and old, various solutions to deal with the often catastrophic and life changing impact of car crashes on occupants and pedestrians. These include:
Some have recommended increasing the minimum age at which someone could secure a drivers license (that would create bigger problems on our roads). While these well intended groups debate which of their methods could make the next big difference, nothing is being done to make our roads safer from inexperienced and just plain bad drivers.

DMV Accredited Driving Schools that offer Driver's Ed programs are not required by many States, including Nevada, to provide new drivers with any hands-on driving time. That's a real concern especially for young new drivers. Students may at their discretion, purchase basic street driving sessions in addition to the classroom curriculum but advanced car control skills are not taught. Our program is designed to complement the best of all the teaching methods currently available to drivers seeking to improve their accident survival skills.
"Traffic Safety Schools" used by Municipal Governments to process traffic offenders do not incorporate any actual hands-on driving time either. Classroom only programs, at any level, offer no opportunity to teach students ANY actual life saving collision avoidance skills.

Offering programs that make a meaningful impact on students’ long term future behavior behind the wheel.
Our car control clinic is designed to complement the best of all the teaching methods currently available to drivers seeking to improve their accident survival skills. We believe that all motorists should be required to attend our car control clinics and,
all traffic law offenders should only be given three options:
The Academy’s A.I.D.E. program is designed to affordably and efficiently teach millions of everyday drivers right now, the life saving skills to make them better safer drivers. Using this method we can help reduce the incidence of traffic accidents, deaths and injuries in our communities with special attention paid to new drivers, teenagers and young adults.
We realize that our best opportunity to reach the greatest number of drivers in the least amount of time is to work hand-in-hand with the courts and the professional driving school operators. We are also committed to changing the nature of “Traffic Safety Schools” as they exist today to make them much more effective (while remaining inexpensive) by incorporating advanced accident survival driving exercises as part of the required curriculum content.
